Reports Cambined

Animals’ homes are amazing. Different animals work hard to build different types of homes.  Three examples of animals’ astonishing homes are made by beavers, swiftlets, and bees.
Beaver’s homes, called lodges, are really amazing.  They build at night so they can be safe from predators, who would hunt them in the day.  To construct their homes they use their teeth and tails. They use their teeth to chop down wood. They use their tails to put mud on sticks to make them stick together. They stack branches in the water so they make a little dry spot. Finally, they make an underwater entrance so no predators can sneak in. Beavers are very smart!
The swiftlet’s nest is tasty to some people. A swiftlet, which is a type of bird, crafts its nest in caves. The males spit clear saliva. With their tongues, they put it into the shape of the nests on the cave wall. Next, the males and females both put more spit on the wall to make the nests. It quickly hardens and looks like a half bowl. Strangely, one pound of nests is 1,000 dollars each! Chefs in Asia make delicious soup out of the nests because it’s a delicacy to some people.
Honeybees work diligently together to make stupendous homes, which are called hives. They build hollow places that look like thousands of tiny rooms. The rooms are cells, and they are hexagon shaped. The bees build the rooms out of wax. To make the wax the bees hang on to each other and get hot. Weirdly, when the bees get hot they make wax instead of sweat.  The rooms are for storing honey and raising baby bees. Honeybees are breathtaking workers.
God made many different creative creatures who work hard to build their homes.

Benjamin Franklin

Benjamin Franklin is famous for many reasons. He helped establish the first library, fire department, hospital and college in America. He wisely invented the lighting rod, which helps protect houses today. He was a smart man. Benjamin Franklin, who was the first great inventor, invented the Franklin stove and bifocals. Surprisingly, he never patented his inventions because he just wanted people to copy and use his invention. Benjamin Franklin is famous for all the kind things he did for his country

Crazy Boy

The day was windy. A little boy, who was five, was on a grassy hill. His name was Steve. He was flying his kite. He was also crazy. Before he went outside he was doing schoolwork. His mom had demanded “take a break Steve.” Steve answered “Okay mom.” Weirdly, the sky turned dark. Steve heard thunder and saw rain, but he strangely didn’t go inside.
While Steve was flying his kite, suddenly the wind became too strong so that he was lifted up in to the air. Steve was flying away when a little girl came to him. She asked Steve if he was okay. Steve answered “I am fine. I like flying.” Steve also asked “What are you doing?” She answered “Riding my bike.” While he was flying in the air his foot got stuck in the string on his kite. Suddenly, he landed in a tree which had golden apples. He felt awesome.
Unsurprisingly, Steve is hanging from a tree. The little girl screams “AH!”A creeper had walked up. The creeper almost blew her up. Steve laughs really loudly like a hyena. The children, who learned a valuable lesson that day, went home. Don’t fly kites during storms

Fishing for Fish

Steve and his dad Bob went fishing. Steve is five years old and crazy. Bob is 37 years old and weird. Steve and Bob, who calmly sailed their boat to the top of Angel falls, were happy. The water was warm. Steve liked fishing because it was fun.
Proudly, Bob caught the famous fish. Steve was so amazed. His dad, who let him touch the fish, was so happy. Steve yelled “Waterfall!” because he was excited. Bob liked his fish so much he oddly didn‘t pay any attention to his son.
They fell in the water, which, weirdly, was fun for Steve. Steve liked the awesome waterfall ride because he was crazy. The dad, not so much. Steve happily yelled “Again!” The dad meanly yelled back “No!” Tearfully, the fish fell in the water too and swam away!

Desert Tarantulas

Desert Tarantulas
The Desert Tarantula is the largest spider in the world.  They are not really dangerous like you see in movies.  They live underground and live in burrows.  Tarantulas sit at the entrance waiting for insects to wander by.  We see them during mating season, which is when adult males look for females.  Male tarantulas live ten years long and die after mating.  Females live 25 years or more.  They lay eggs several time in their lives.
